The Role
As a Chartered Building Surveyor, you'll play a key role in delivering a wide variety of professional and project-based surveying services. Working alongside an experienced team of surveyors, project managers and cost consultants, you'll manage your own portfolio of instructions while building strong, lasting relationships with our clients.
You'll be involved in everything from condition surveys and building pathology investigations to refurbishment projects, contract administration and long-term asset management strategies.
Key Responsibilities
You'll be responsible for delivering a broad range of building surveying services, including:
- Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) surveys, lifecycle planning and asset management reporting
- Building condition surveys and technical due diligence
- Building pathology investigations and defect diagnosis
- Preparation of specifications and schedules of work
- Reinstatement Cost Assessments (RCA)
- Insurance reinstatement projects following fire, flood and other insured events
- Project management of maintenance, repair and refurbishment schemes
- Contract Administration under JCT and SBCC forms of contract
- Preparation of Schedules of Condition and Dilapidations
- Client liaison, technical reporting and professional advice
- Supporting business development through excellent client service and relationship management
- Working collaboratively across multidisciplinary project teams
- Ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations, health & safety legislation and current industry best practice
About You
We're looking for someone who combines strong technical ability with commercial awareness and a proactive approach to client service.
You'll ideally have:
- Chartered Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS)
- Degree in Building Surveying or a related discipline
- Solid experience delivering a broad range of professional building surveying services
- Experience managing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programmes
- Excellent knowledge of construction technology and building pathology
- Strong project management and contract administration experience
- Good working knowledge of JCT and/or SBCC contracts
- Experience preparing clear, concise technical reports
- Understanding of CDM Regulations and health & safety legislation
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- A proactive, solution-focused mindset with excellent attention to detail
- Competence using Microsoft Office and CAD software
- Full UK Driving Licence

Pay: £45,000.00-£75,000.00 per year
