The Role
We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team on a part-time basis. This is a flexible, hybrid role suited to someone who can confidently manage core compliance work and support a varied client portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of statutory accounts for limited companies in accordance with FRS 102 Section 1A and FRS 105
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns
- Preparation and submission of CIS returns
- Assisting with payroll processing
- Bookkeeping and maintenance of accurate financial records
- Preparation of Self-Assessment tax returns for:
- High net worth individuals
- Directors of limited companies
- Sole traders
- Liaising with clients to gather information and provide support
- Ensuring compliance with HMRC and Companies House deadlines
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in an accountancy practice
- Proven experience preparing statutory accounts under FRS 102 1A and FRS 105
- Strong working knowledge of VAT, CIS, payroll, and bookkeeping
- Experience completing Self-Assessments for a range of client types, including high net worth individuals
- AAT Level 4 qualified (essential)
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication and client-facing abilities
- Ability to manage workload independently and meet deadlines
Desirable
- Experience using accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or similar
- Experience managing a client portfolio
