Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Volunteer EDI (Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion) Coordinator, serving as the Diversity Strand Lead, to champion and advance our Doula UK’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable environment. In this vital role, you will lead initiatives that promote diversity awareness, support underrepresented groups, and embed inclusive practices across all levels of the organisation. Your leadership will inspire positive change, ensuring that our community remains welcoming, respectful, and vibrant for everyone. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive EDI strategies aligned with organisational goals to promote diversity and inclusion.
- Lead the Diversity Strand by coordinating projects that enhance representation and equity within the organisation.
- Collaborate with internal teams to integrate inclusive practices into policies, programs, and communications.
- Manage social media platforms and marketing efforts to raise awareness about diversity initiatives and events.
- Organise workshops, training sessions, and outreach activities aimed at educating staff, members and community on social justice issues.
- Oversee fundraising efforts to support EDI programs and ensure sustainable growth of diversity projects.
- Maintain administrative records related to diversity initiatives, including reports on progress and impact assessments.
- Engage with community partners and stakeholders to foster collaborative efforts that advance social health and equity goals.
Experience
- Strong background in project management with the ability to plan, execute, and evaluate initiatives effectively.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a passion for promoting social justice and equity.
- Experience in marketing or social media management to effectively communicate diversity messages.
- Knowledge of fundraising strategies relevant to nonprofit or community organisations.
- Administrative experience managing records, reports, or databases related to program activities.
- Familiarity with public health principles as they relate to social determinants of health and community well-being.
- Teaching or training experience in diversity or social justice topics is highly desirable.
