HOLIDAY CAMP VENUE MANAGER
Pay: £20.00 per hour, inclusive of rolled-up holiday pay
Location: Woodlands Primary School, Tonbridge, Kent, TN10 4BB
Dates: Monday 19 October to Friday 30 October 2026, weekdays only
Hours: Approximately 8.00am to 5.00pm
Contract: Full-time, fixed-term contract, with potential opportunities during future school holidays
Training: Paid pre-camp training will take place on a weekend. Attendance is required and the date and timings will be confirmed in advance.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Rising Stars Activities is looking for an experienced, confident and highly organised Venue Manager to lead our new multi-activity holiday camp at Woodlands Primary School.
You will take ownership of the day-to-day camp experience, ensuring children aged 4–12 are safe, happy and engaged, parents receive a warm and professional service and the staff team delivers consistently high standards.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can provide structure and calm judgement behind the scenes while helping the camp feel energetic, welcoming and fun.

This role would particularly suit someone currently working, or with recent experience, in an education setting, such as a teacher, teaching assistant, pastoral lead, PE professional, school club manager or member of a school leadership or support team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Take overall responsibility for the safe, smooth and successful running of the venue
- Lead, motivate and support the coaching team throughout each day
- Complete daily site checks and ensure rooms, activity spaces and equipment are safe and ready
- Manage registers, staff deployment, group ratios, headcounts and secure collection procedures
- Oversee a varied programme of sports, active games, creative activities and team challenges
- Ensure activities are appropriate for different ages, abilities and needs
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, behaviour management, health and safety and inclusion
- Build positive relationships with children, parents, carers and school representatives
- Respond calmly and professionally to incidents, concerns or last-minute changes
- Keep clear records and report accidents, safeguarding concerns and operational issues promptly
- Support or lead activities when needed to keep the programme running well
ABOUT YOU
You will be a strong fit if you:
- Have significant experience working with children in a holiday camp, school, wraparound, childcare, youth-work or coaching environment
- Have experience leading staff or taking responsibility for a children’s provision
- Ideally work, or have recently worked, in a school or another education setting
- Are confident managing safeguarding, attendance, behaviour and day-to-day operational decisions
- Communicate warmly and professionally with parents, colleagues and school staff
- Can motivate a team, set clear expectations and address issues constructively
- Are organised, dependable, proactive and calm under pressure
- Can work all 10 weekdays and the typical hours stated above
- Can attend the required paid weekend training session
- Have the right to work in the UK
Relevant childcare, teaching, playwork or sports qualifications are desirable, but practical leadership experience and sound judgement are equally important.
A paediatric first-aid qualification is preferred but not essential.
