We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and practical Duty Manager to join our team.
As a Duty Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the pool during your shifts, ensuring the safety of our customers, supporting our staff and volunteers, and helping to deliver a high-quality service for the local community.
This is a varied, hands-on role. One moment you could be carrying out pool water tests, the next supporting a lifeguard, helping a customer, dealing with a maintenance issue or preparing the building for an evening swimming session.
Key Responsibilities Facility Operations
- Take responsibility for the safe operation of the swimming pool during your shift.
- Open and close the building in accordance with operational procedures.
- Carry out routine checks of the building, equipment and plant room.
- Complete pool water testing and ensure water quality remains within required standards.
- Monitor and operate the pool plant in accordance with training and procedures.
- Report and, where possible, resolve minor maintenance issues.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the facility.
Health & Safety
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, the Pool Safety Operating Procedures (PSOP), Normal Operating Procedures (NOP) and Emergency Action Plan (EAP).
- Lead the response to emergencies and incidents.
- Complete accident and incident reports.
- Carry out routine safety inspections and risk assessments.
- Promote a strong safety culture among staff, volunteers and customers.
Customer Service
- Provide a friendly, welcoming and professional service to all customers.
- Handle enquiries, bookings and customer feedback.
- Resolve complaints positively and professionally.
- Help promote the charity's values and encourage community engagement.
Staff & Volunteers
- Supervise lifeguards, reception staff and volunteers during each shift.
- Lead by example and foster a positive team culture.
- Support the induction and training of new staff.
- Assist with staff rotas where required.
- Ensure all staff follow operational procedures and maintain high standards.
Administration
- Complete daily operational records and reports.
- Assist with cash handling and end-of-day procedures.
- Monitor stock levels and order consumables when required.
- Support the General Manager with day-to-day administration.
Supporting the Charity
As a small charity, everyone contributes to the success of the organisation. The successful candidate will be expected to work flexibly and support colleagues across different areas of the business when required. This may include helping at community events, fundraising activities, promotional events or undertaking other reasonable duties.
Pay: Up to £28,000.00 per year
