About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Small Plant Mechanic to join our maintenance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mechanic who enjoys working with a wide range of equipment and takes pride in delivering high standards of workmanship.
In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and optimisation of a variety of small plant machinery and equipment essential to our operations. Working within a supportive and dynamic environment, you will play a key role in ensuring our fleet remains safe, reliable and operating at peak performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine inspections, servicing, and preventative maintenance on a range of small plant equipment
- Diagnose faults and perform repairs using technical manuals, schematics, and manufacturer specifications.
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialist equipment to complete maintenance and repair work efficiently.
- Maintain accurate service records, maintenance reports, and equipment documentation.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
- Provide technical support and advice to operational teams, delivering a responsive and customer-focused service.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience in plant maintenance, mechanical repair, or electrical systems.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Knowledge of fabrication methods, including welding and soldering.
- Experience using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and workshop equipment.
- Good working knowledge of excavators, forklifts, or similar plant machinery (highly desirable).
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and preventative maintenance.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a physically demanding environment.
- Relevant mechanical, engineering, or electrical qualifications (advantageous but not essential).
