Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Pivot Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts safely and efficiently to handle materials, assist with shipping and receiving, and support overall warehouse operations. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse management systems, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to perform heavy lifting. Previous warehouse experience and familiarity with equipment repair are advantageous. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where safety, accuracy, and efficiency are paramount.
Responsibilities
- Operate pivot forklifts to load, unload, and move materials within the warehouse
- Ensure safe handling of goods in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes, including documentation and inventory management
- Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records accurately
- Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs on forklift equipment as needed
- Handle materials with care, ensuring proper stacking and storage to prevent damage or accidents
- Support overall warehouse organisation by maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of work areas
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational targets and deadlines
Experience
- Proven experience operating forklift trucks in a warehouse environment
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems and inventory control procedures
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs
- Experience in materials handling, load & unload operations, shipping & receiving processes
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Basic maths skills for inventory counts and documentation purposes
- Previous warehouse experience is highly desirable but not essential for motivated candidates willing to learn
Pay: £13.65 per hour
