Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to health and safety regulations
- Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes according to menu specifications and quality standards
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to maintain high performance levels
- Manage food production processes, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock rotation to minimise waste
- Enforce food safety standards and hygiene practices across all kitchen activities
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Develop new menu items in line with current culinary trends and customer preferences
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment at all times
Skills
- Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen or restaurant setting
- Extensive food production and culinary experience with a strong understanding of food safety protocols
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster a positive working environment
- Proficiency in food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation skills
- Strong knowledge of hospitality standards and customer service excellence
- Leadership qualities with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure
- Experience in restaurant operations, including serving procedures and customer interaction
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of food quality and hygiene standards
