Pay: £12.71 per hour, plus mileage between visits
Hours: Flexible daytime hours, initially between 9am and 3pm, Monday to Friday

Would you like a job that fits into the daytime and genuinely means something?
Perhaps you enjoy shopping, going for a walk, sharing a cup of tea and a conversation, or helping someone keep on top of everyday life.
You may have thought about working in care but felt unsure whether providing personal care was right for you.
If so, we may have the perfect role for you.
Goodwin Healthcare is an established North Lincolnshire care provider that has supported people in our local community for more than 13 years. Building on that experience, our family values and our strong local roots, we are now expanding across North Lincolnshire and the Humber, launching our new GHS Community Connections service in the Hull area.
We are looking for friendly, dependable people to become our first Community Connections Assistants across:
- Hessle, Anlaby, Willerby and Kirk Ella
- Scunthorpe, Broughton, Kirton, Messingham, Bottesford and Ashby
This is an opportunity to help adults remain independent, enjoy everyday life and stay connected to the people and places that matter to them.
What you could be doing
Every day will be different. You may support someone by:
- Providing companionship and conversation
- Helping with light cleaning and everyday household tasks
- Shopping and completing errands
- Preparing a simple meal or lunch
- Accompanying them to appointments
- Going for a walk, coffee or lunch
- Supporting them to enjoy bowling, the cinema or community activities
- Providing a reassuring daytime visit while their family is at work or taking a break
- Encouraging confidence, independence and social connection
Visits will last for a minimum of one hour, allowing you to spend meaningful, unhurried time with each person.
This is a non-regulated support role
Community Connections Assistants will not provide personal care, medication support or continence care.
Previous care experience is not essential. Your values, reliability and ability to connect with people matter most. Induction, training and ongoing support will be provided.
Who we are looking for
You will need to be:
- Friendly, patient and comfortable talking to different people
- Reliable and able to arrive at agreed visits on time
- Respectful of people’s choices, homes and routines
- Confident working independently
- Willing to complete all required training
- Able to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Committed to treating everyone with dignity and respect
Travel requirement
You must be able to travel independently between visits across Hessle, Anlaby and Kirk Ella. Some people may live in locations where public transport is limited.
If driving, you will need:
- A full, valid driving licence
- Access to a suitable vehicle
- Appropriate business-use motor insurance
Mileage between visits will be paid.
What we offer
- Paid mileage between visits
- Flexible daytime working
- Induction and role-specific training
- Ongoing support and development
- The opportunity to help establish a brand-new service
- Potential pathways into care, senior support, management and other health and social care careers
- The support of an established care provider with more than 13 years’ experience
Appointments will be subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks, including references, right-to-work checks and an enhanced DBS check.
If you want a flexible and meaningful role where the small things you do can make a genuine difference, we would love to hear from you.
