Sales Forecourt Controller
Location: Long Marsh Ltd, The Embankment, Wellingborough
Hours: Full Time | 45 hours per week | Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 6:00pm (1-hour lunch break)
Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 penalty points and no major convictions
- Confident driving and manoeuvring vehicles from small cars to large vans
- Physically fit and able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
- Reliable with excellent timekeeping and a strong work ethic
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous vehicle valeting or vehicle preparation experience preferred
About the Role
We're looking for a reliable and hardworking Vehicle Valeter / Driver to join our team at Long Marsh Ltd in Wellingborough.
This is a hands-on role supporting our busy vehicle sales department, ensuring every vehicle is prepared to the highest standard and presented professionally for customers. You'll also help maintain the appearance of the forecourt and assist with vehicle movements and deliveries.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and valet cars, vans and commercial vehicles to forecourt standard using professional cleaning products
- Ensure all vehicles are clean, polished and ready for customer viewings, test drives and handovers
- Maintain a clean, tidy and welcoming forecourt, ensuring it remains free from litter and debris
- Photograph vehicles for online advertising
- Check vehicles display the correct pricing and sales information
- Check in de-fleeted vehicles and remove sign writing from vans and trucks when required
- Safely move vehicles around the site
- Deliver and collect vehicles from customers and business partners as required
- Keep cleaning bays, equipment and work areas clean, organised and safe
About You
The successful candidate will be dependable, proactive and take pride in maintaining high presentation standards.
You'll ideally have:
- Experience preparing and valeting vehicles to a high standard
- Confidence driving and parking a variety of vehicles, including vans
- C1 and/or D1 licence categories (advantageous but not essential)
- Excellent attention to detail
- A positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage your workload effectively
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation
- Excellent punctuality and attendance
