Refuse and Recycling Driver/Loader – Facilities & Environment
Hours: 37 Hours Per Week
Contract: 24 Week Temporary Contract (starting 31 July 2026)
Location: Builder Street West, Llandudno, Conwy County Borough, LL30 1HH, United Kingdom
Work Pattern: Monday – Friday, 07:00 – 14:54 (30-minute break included on timesheet). Bank holidays are normal working days (excluding Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year's Day). Catch-up over the festive period is done over 3 Saturdays.
We're recruiting Refuse and Recycling Driver/Loaders to support Council's Environment, Roads and Facilities Group. This is a key operational role, ideal for someone reliable, safety-conscious, and confident working in a fast-paced public service environment.
About the Role
As a Refuse and Recycling Driver/Loader, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the effective collection and disposal of waste and recycling across the borough.
What you'll be doing:
- Driving and operating council refuse/recycling vehicles
- Loading and unloading waste and recycling materials safely and efficiently
- Working from depots at Llanrwst, Mochdre, and Builder Street
- Following daily schedules and instructions via mobile PDA
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements
- Supporting colleagues with day-to-day operational tasks

You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience in refuse/recycling or similar operational roles
- Ability to work to schedules and follow instructions via PDA
- Good communication skills and a professional approach
- Commitment to health and safety standards
- Flexibility to work bank holidays and occasional Saturdays during festive catch-up periods
