About Dingley's Promise:
Dingley's Promise is the UK's largest specialist early years SEND charity, supporting children aged 0–5 with special educational needs and disabilities and their families. We operate twelve specialist centres across England and deliver national training to over 30,000 early years practitioners each year. Our mission is to make sure every child with SEND gets the best possible start in life. This role sits within a national government-funded programme delivering high-quality online CPD and quality improvement support to early years settings across England, in partnership with a consortium of specialist sector organisations.
Role Purpose:
Support the delivery of the quality improvement programme by carrying out inclusive practice reviews, supporting early years settings to identify priorities, and helping them implement practical improvement plans that strengthen inclusive practice for children with SEND.
Key Responsibilities Quality improvement delivery:
- Carry out initial and follow-up inclusive practice reviews with participating early years settings
- Support settings to identify strengths, gaps and practical priorities for improvement
- Work with settings to develop realistic improvement plans linked to inclusive practice and SEND outcomes
- Maintain an agreed caseload of participating settings, with supervision from the Quality Improvement Programme Lead
Coaching, support and follow-up:
- Provide supportive coaching and guidance to practitioners and setting leaders as they implement improvement actions
- Deliver targeted training, briefings or coaching visits where agreed as part of the improvement plan
- Identify settings that may need additional support and escalate concerns to the Quality Improvement Programme Lead
- Maintain a constructive and strengths-based approach that builds confidence and supports sustainable change
Recording and reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of reviews, improvement plans, follow-up activity and outcomes
- Contribute to programme reporting by providing updates on setting progress, emerging themes and examples of impact
- Support the development of short case studies, learning summaries and evidence for funder reporting
- Ensure records are completed accurately and handled in line with Dingley's Promise data protection procedures
Person SpecificationEssential:
- Experience working in early years, SEND, inclusion, quality improvement, training or advisory support
- Good understanding of inclusive practice and the needs of young children with SEND
- Able to observe practice, identify strengths and areas for development, and give constructive feedback
- Confident supporting practitioners and setting leaders through coaching, advice or reflective discussion
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to maintain clear records and summaries
- Organised and able to manage a caseload of settings to agreed timescales
Desirable:
- Assessor qualification or Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) qualification
- Experience carrying out quality assurance, assessment, audit or improvement visits in education or early years settings
- Experience supporting settings through improvement planning or reflective practice cycles
- Familiarity with funded programme reporting, evidence gathering or case study development
