Summary
We are seeking a Dairy Operative to join our night team at Pattemores Transport in the GB countryside. This role is vital to our dairy ingredient production process, supporting our commitment to quality and safety.
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: 4 nights on / 4 nights off (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) Apx 37.5 hours per week
Reports to: Nightshift Manager / Supervisor
Key Responsibilities
Dairy Operative
- Operating CIP (Clean‑in‑Place) equipment to clean silos and cream tanks, ensuring hygiene and compliance with food‑safety standards.
- Running production lines, including both automated and manual systems, while monitoring performance and maintaining consistent output quality.
- Supporting pergal line operations, assisting with set‑up, running, and changeovers as required.
- Filling pallecons accurately, ensuring correct product weights and completing any associated documentation
Equipment & Process Monitoring
- Perform routine machinery checks during the shift, identifying any irregularities.
- Record data accurately via computer systems and manual logs.
- Support immediate troubleshooting under direction from the night shift supervisor.
Hygiene & Safety Standards
- Maintain a clean and hygienic work area following food safety and health regulations.
- Assist with cleaning equipment and processing areas as required.
- Follow all safety protocols and escalate any hazards or concerns.
Inventory & Supplies Support
- Track usage of chemicals, consumables, and supplies needed for processing.
- Report shortages or discrepancies to ensure smooth continuous operation.
- Help organise storage areas and maintain accurate records.
Teamwork & Collaboration
- Work closely with the nightshift supervisor and fellow operatives to maintain steady production flow.
- Communicate clearly about process changes, equipment issues, or irregularities.
- Support the wider team by helping with shared tasks such as cleaning, organising, or data entry.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to high standards.
Additional Duties
- Perform any other reasonable tasks requested by supervisors or managers to support the smooth running of the operation.
