Job Description:
We are seeking resilient, motivated Mental Health Support Workers to provide 2:1, 3:1, 4:1 and small-group support to young people aged 13–17 who present with complex emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs. This role involves working within supported living and community-based placements to promote safety, stability, emotional regulation, and positive life skills.
You will be supporting young people who may have experienced trauma, neurodevelopmental needs (such as ADHD), emotional dysregulation, and risks linked to exploitation, substance misuse, and unsafe community influences. The role requires calm, confident professionals who can maintain boundaries, de-escalate challenging situations, and build consistent, trusting relationships.
Support emotional regulation, positive behaviour, and development of life skills
De-escalate challenging and high-pressure situations safely and professionally
Promote safeguarding, personal safety, and positive decision-making
Support engagement with education, health services, and community activities
Complete clear, accurate daily records and incident reports
Work collaboratively with social workers, education providers, and healthcare professionals
Maintain professional boundaries and uphold confidentiality at all times
Experience in residential care, supported living or community outreach
Training in de-escalation, trauma-informed care or safeguarding
