Fixation Academy of Performing Arts is a North London-based performing arts organisation offering high-quality classes and creative programmes for children and young people aged 3+. Our programmes span acting, singing, dance, drama and musical theatre, alongside after-school clubs, holiday camps, youth theatre and performance opportunities.

Role Summary
We are seeking enthusiastic, reliable and confident After-School Club Facilitators to join our growing term-time programme across North London.
We are looking for teachers who can deliver fun, energetic and age-appropriate sessions for primary-aged children, creating an environment where children feel confident, encouraged and excited to participate.
We currently have opportunities across Cheerleading and Street Dance at schools and venues in Barnet.
Session Details
Class time: 3:30pm–4:30pm
Teacher arrival: 3:15pm
Current opportunities:
- Monday – KS2 Cheerleading – EN5
- Wednesday – KS1 Cheerleading – EN5
- Wednesday – KS1 Street Dance – N2
- Thursday – KS1 Street Dance – EN5
- Friday – Street Dance – EN5
Teachers can apply for one or multiple sessions depending on availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, fun and age-appropriate after-school sessions.
- Lead groups of primary-aged children confidently and positively.
- Deliver activities that encourage creativity, confidence, teamwork and participation.
- Adapt activities to suit different ages, abilities and experience levels.
- Create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Manage behaviour appropriately and positively.
- Build positive relationships with children and encourage their individual development.
- Ensure sessions are well organised and start and finish on time.
- Communicate professionally with Fixation Academy and school staff.
- Follow all safeguarding, health and safety and behavioural procedures.
- Liase with parents in a polite and professional manner.
- Contribute to the positive reputation and values of Fixation Academy of Performing Arts.
Essential Requirements
- Experience working with children in a teaching, coaching, performing arts or activity-based environment.
- Confidence leading a group of children independently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive, energetic and encouraging teaching style.
- Ability to manage a group effectively.
- Reliability and commitment to the agreed weekly session.
- A genuine passion for working with children and young people.
- Ability to commute reliably to the relevant North London location.
- Enhanced DBS
Desirable
- Experience teaching dance, cheerleading or performing arts.
- Relevant performing arts, dance, sports, coaching or teaching qualification.
- Previous experience delivering after-school clubs.
- Experience working with primary-aged children.
- Safeguarding training.
Experience
- Teaching/working with children: 1 year (preferred)
- Experience within performing arts/dance.
Work Location: In person
Pay: £20.00-£30.00 per hour
