Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Operational Administrator to provide administrative support to our logistics operations. This role is primarily office-based and focuses on accurate data inputting, documentation, and customer communication to ensure the smooth running of daily activities.
Working within a small logistics business, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate records, supporting drivers from an administrative perspective, and delivering a high standard of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform accurate and timely data inputting across internal systems
- Maintain and update shipment records, delivery information, and operational data
- Process delivery documentation, including proof of delivery (PODs)
- Provide administrative support to drivers, assisting with queries and delivery-related paperwork
- Handle customer service enquiries via phone and email in a professional manner
- Communicate delivery updates, resolve queries, and escalate issues where required
- Track shipments and ensure all records are up to date and accurate
- File and organise operational documents, both electronically and physically
- Liaise with internal teams to ensure smooth administrative workflow
- Support general office duties including emails, filing, and reporting
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and health & safety standards
Key Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in administration, customer service, or logistics support (preferred)
- Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy
- Excellent organisational and administrative abilities
- Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- High attention to detail
- Reliable, proactive, and team-oriented
Working Hours
- 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Shift options:
- 9:00am – 7:00pm
- Includes 1-hour unpaid lunch break
What We Offer
- £13.50 per hour (£31,590 per year)
