Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Timber Frame Erector to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling and installing timber frameworks on various building projects, ensuring precision and safety throughout the process. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in carpentry, joinery, or related trades to contribute to high-quality construction works. The position involves working on-site, often requiring heavy lifting and the use of specialised tools, with a focus on delivering durable and accurate timber structures.
Duties
- Erect and assemble timber frameworks according to technical drawings and specifications
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to cut, shape, and join timber components
- Install roofing elements as part of the timber structure when required
- Assist with fabrication and assembly of timber components at the workshop or on-site as needed
- Perform heavy lifting safely to manoeuvre large timber sections into position
- Carry out construction painting, plumbing, masonry, or electrical tasks if necessary to support project requirements
- Collaborate with other trades such as roofing, electrical, or masonry teams to ensure seamless project progression
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience in fabrication, assembly, carpentry, or joinery within a construction environment
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment used in timber framing and general construction
- Knowledge of roofing, plumbing, masonry, electrical systems is advantageous but not essential
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the workday
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in measuring and fitting components accurately
- Good understanding of construction safety standards and procedures
- Physical fitness suitable for working at heights and in various weather conditions
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in carpentry or construction trades are preferred but not mandatory
