Join our Team at Active Bolton as a Senior Membership Advisor
Location: Horwich and Westhoughton Leisure Centres
Hours: 37 hours per week including evenings and weekends
Salary: Basic salary : £27,239.50 - OTE £32,039
We’re looking for a friendly, confident and motivated Senior Membership Advisor to join our team at Active Bolton.

You’ll be one of the first people our customers meet, so being warm, approachable and a great listener really matters.
About the Role
As our Senior Membership Advisor, you’ll be there to make joining Active Bolton feel simple, friendly and welcoming.
You’ll spend time talking to people about what they want to get from their membership, showing them around our facilities and helping them choose the right option for them.
You’ll support the day-to-day performance of the membership team, helping to achieve membership and retention targets while maintaining excellent standards of customer service.
You’ll also:
- Welcome new and existing members and make sure they have a great experience
- Talk to people who are interested in joining and answer their questions
- Show potential members around our facilities
- Follow up enquiries and keep in touch with people who are thinking about joining
- Help new members feel comfortable and confident when they get started
- Build good relationships with our members and encourage them to stay active
- Work with the team to reach membership and retention targets
- Keep membership information and enquiries up to date
- Help with membership offers, campaigns, open days and local events
- Listen to feedback and look for ways we can make things even better
- Work with colleagues across Active Bolton to give our customers the best possible experience
Most importantly, you’ll lead by example. You’ll bring energy and positivity to the team and help create a place where everyone feels welcome.
What we’re looking for
You don’t need to know everything on day one. What matters most is that you enjoy working with people, have a positive attitude and are comfortable having conversations about memberships and sales.
We’d love to hear from you if you:
- Have experience in sales, customer service, leisure, fitness or a similar role
- Enjoy meeting and talking to different people
- Are confident, friendly and a good listener
- Can motivate and support others
- Are organised and good at following things through
- Enjoy working towards goals as part of a team
- Care about giving people a great experience
- Have an interest in helping people become healthier and more active
Experience in leisure or fitness would be great, but it’s not essential. If you’re good with people and have the right attitude, we’d still love to hear from you.
Essential
- Good working knowledge of membership management and prospecting software;
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, including customers, colleagues and senior managers:
- Customer focused and able to deal directly and efficiently with customers and their needs.
Desirable
- Knowledge of Legend Management system and CRM systems;
- Knowledge of direct debit, credit control and associated procedures;
- Minimum of one year’s sales experience at a senior level at a large fitness club or multi-site operation
- Knowledge of current trends within the fitness industry;
