Elementa Support Services is working in partnership with welcoming secondary schools across Torfaen to recruit enthusiastic Cover Supervisors who can confidently lead classrooms and keep learning on track when teachers are absent.
No lesson planning. No marking. Just the opportunity to inspire, support, and gain invaluable classroom experience while making a real difference to young people's education.
As a Cover Supervisor, you'll play a vital role in the smooth running of the school day by:
Delivering pre-planned lessons across a variety of subjects
Managing classroom behaviour and creating a positive learning environment
Keeping students engaged and focused on the work provided
Encouraging participation, independence, and respect within the classroom
Following school behaviour, safeguarding, and health & safety policies
Providing feedback to teaching staff on lesson progress and student behaviour
Building positive relationships with students and becoming a valued member of the school community

We're looking for people who are:
Confident leading groups of young people
Calm, resilient, and able to think on their feet
Excellent communicators with strong organisational skills
Reliable, professional, and adaptable
Passionate about supporting education and helping students succeed
Experience working with young people (schools, coaching, youth work, tutoring or similar)
Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration, or willingness to register before work commences
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply (Elementa can assist)
Strong behaviour management and communication skills
Previous secondary school experience
Degree or Level 3 qualification
An interest in teacher training or a long-term career in education
