We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. This position requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients while ensuring their safety and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Support clients with mobility and physical activities, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Implement behaviour management strategies as needed to ensure client comfort and safety.
- Maintain accurate records of client care and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate personnel.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individual care plans tailored to each client's needs.
- Assist with Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, hospice care, and other specialised support as required.
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities as needed.
Skills
- Experience in assisted living, nursing home settings, or similar environments is highly desirable. Social care Wales registration is required so will need to either have one, or be willing to apply.
- Strong background in patient care with a focus on senior care and caregiving practices.
- Familiarity with Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, hospice care, and home care services is advantageous.
- Proficient in first aid techniques and emergency response protocols.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviours effectively while maintaining client dignity.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients when necessary.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing client needs and schedules is essential.
