Cambridge Regional College have an exciting opportunity for a Data Protection and Administrative Assistant to join our team at our Cambridge Campus.
You will join us on a full time (37 hours), full year basis and in return you will receive a competitive salary of between ££28,032 - £29,917 per annum, plus staff benefits.

About the role:
You will be the welcoming, knowledgeable first point of contact for all data protection and FOI enquiries. Your responsibilities will include:
- Responding to data protection and FOI queries in line with legislation and College policy

Confirming identity and obtaining consent where required

Tracking and monitoring data subject access requests, FOI requests, enquiries and breaches

Redacting third‑party data accurately and in line with legal requirements

Working closely with the Assistant DPO, IT Services and managers to ensure efficient processes

Leading annual updates to the data asset register

Supporting updates to policies, procedures and privacy notices

Producing regular reports on breaches, access requests and training data

Maintaining and developing your own knowledge of data protection legislation
What we are looking for in our role:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above)

Experience in an administrative or customer‑facing role

Ability to handle confidential information appropriately

Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines

Good IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)

A working knowledge of UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act and FOI

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
