Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Cafe Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for our patrons. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately
- Prepare a variety of food and beverages, including coffee, tea, sandwiches, and snacks
- Ensure all food safety standards are adhered to at all times
- Serve customers promptly and efficiently, maintaining a friendly demeanour
- Keep the café clean and organised, including clearing tables and sanitising work areas
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operations throughout shifts
- Handle cash transactions accurately using the till system
- Assist with opening and closing procedures as required
Skills
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling
- Previous barista experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Experience in serving customers in a fast-paced environment
- Basic food preparation skills, including assembling sandwiches or snacks
- Good numerical skills for handling cash transactions and managing stock levels
- Effective time management to prioritise tasks during busy periods
- Strong organisational skills to maintain cleanliness and order within the café environment

Pay: £12.71-£14.61 per hour
