About the Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored support for pupils across the school, from primary age through to post-16. You will help create a positive, engaging learning environment where every pupil feels valued, confident, and encouraged to achieve.
Your role will include:
- Supporting pupils with MLD in lessons and throughout the wider school day
- Helping pupils develop independence, confidence, and essential life skills
- Providing personalised support based on individual needs and learning plans
- Encouraging communication, engagement, and positive behaviour
- Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
- Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and the wider school team
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about supporting children and young people with SEND
- Patient, empathetic, and understanding
- A strong communicator with a positive and proactive attitude
- Able to build meaningful relationships with pupils
- Confident supporting learning, social development, and emotional wellbeing
- Experienced working with SEN
