Team Leader – Children’s Residential Home (EBD)

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Team Leader to join our warm and welcoming
children’s home, supporting young people with emotional behavioural difficulties (EBD). At West Valley Home, we are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment where

As a Team Leader, you will support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in leading day-to day shifts, providing direct care, and ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding, consistency, and
positive outcomes for our young people.
Your Role
- Lead shifts, ensuring all care and safeguarding standards are maintained.
- Provide guidance, supervision, and mentoring to Residential Support Workers.
- Support with care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies.
- Build trusting relationships with young people, promoting resilience, life skills, and independence.
- Maintain clear, accurate records and contribute to reports for reviews and inspections.
- Actively contribute to the home’s development and continuous improvement.
- Ensure the home operates in line with Ofsted standards, regulations, and organisational policies.
- Shift pattern: (15-hour shifts) may be required to work additional hours when assigned
a sleep-in to meet the needs of the home.
Requirements
- Level 3/4 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – essential.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a residential childcare setting.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures, relevant legislation, and Ofsted frameworks.
- Leadership or shift-leading experience desirable.
- Resilient, empathetic, and able to model positive behaviour to young people and staff.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
