General Summary:
Parkguard Ltd is currently recruiting Patrol Officers to support our continued growth. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established Community Safety provider working in partnership with Local Authorities, Police, and other agencies to reduce anti-social behaviour (ASB), prevent crime, and improve public safety.
The role is street-based, uniformed patrol within parks, open spaces, housing estates, and night-time economy (NTE) areas. Officers provide reassurance, enforcement, harm-reduction, and early intervention services through high-visibility patrols and proactive engagement.
While relevant experience is valued, we are equally focused on recruiting individuals with commitment, professionalism, and enthusiasm to deliver high-quality Community Safety services.
*Full, comprehensive, and in-depth training will be provided to all successful candidates at our head office (face-to-face) based in Wheathampstead, Hertfordshire*
Role Responsibilities:
- Respond to requests for assistance from licensed premises and door staff contributing to the late-night levy
- Support the management of public disorder, crime, and nuisance associated with the NTE
- Provide early intervention to prevent low-level issues from escalating
- Engage positively with members of the public and partner agencies
- Conduct high-visibility foot and vehicle patrols
- Assist the public with safety, welfare, and safeguarding concerns
- Detect, disrupt, and deter offenders, taking enforcement action where required
- Process individuals for relevant offences in line with legal and service requirements
- Gather intelligence and evidence to support licensing and enforcement teams
- Carry out reassurance patrols and respond to local concerns
- Task hotspot locations identified by Police, partners, or the community
- Participate in joint action days with Police and Local Authority partners
- Provide education and awareness-based patrols to prevent ASB and crime
- Support vulnerable members of the public
Role Requirements:
- Hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor or Close Protection licence
- Hold a full UK manual driving licence and have access to their own vehicle
- Be able to work unsocial hours (typically between 20:00–08:00)
- Demonstrate excellent written and spoken English
- Be computer literate, with the ability to complete accurate reports and emails
- Be physically fit and capable of prolonged foot patrols and dealing with challenging situations
- Be professional, well-presented, and confident when engaging with the public
- Be compassionate, proactive, and able to self-task
- Take responsibility for service delivery and professional conduct
This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. All successful candidates must pass full Police vetting

Salary: Rate of pay during training £14ph, thereafter paid at £15ph
Working Days: 4-day week (Thursday – Sunday)
Shifts: 20:00-06:00 Thursday and Sunday, 20:00–08:00 Friday and Saturday
Total hours per week: Contracted hours are 44 hours per week, with overtime available
