Role Purpose
The role of L&D Coach is at the forefront of our business. The role requires inspirational delivery of Level 3 Safeguarding Support Officer course materials, supporting our learners to achieve successful outcomes throughout their learning journey while continually engaging their employers to provide an overview of the Apprentice’s progress. The L&D Coach is responsible for supporting a caseload of Apprentices who are learning in their places of work across a broad range of sectors, including but not limited to early years and childcare, health and social care, and corporate organisations.
You will be required to manage your own workload to achieve the appropriate outputs which demonstrate successful coaching, in conjunction with preparing for and delivering your teaching, learning and assessment commitments.
You will support ongoing curriculum development in addition to delivering the content of the Standard in a virtual classroom setting, delivering a high-quality service for our service users. Working closely with our learners and employers, you will be responsible for supporting them to evidence their learning and enabling them to achieve in a timely manner.
Typical Deliverables
This list is not exhaustive, and you are expected to undertake any reasonable activity suited to your qualifications and experience. The principal duties required to deliver this role will include the elements below:
· Delivering outstanding teaching, learning and assessment against the KSBs of the L3 Safeguarding Support Officer Standard
· Mentoring learners with varying barriers to learning
· Ensuring timely progression of learners through their qualifications with the delivery of masterclass workshops, webinars, observation, professional discussion, and other methods
· Working with Functional Skills Specialists to facilitate learning towards functional skill components where required
· Supporting learners to ensure their work is regularly uploaded to their online E-portfolio
· Reviewing portfolio work and providing developmental feedback in accordance with established guidelines and practice
· Holding regular 1-2-1 reviews with Apprentices (and line managers) for the purpose of giving specific portfolio advice and guidance
· Ensuring learners are ready for their End Point Assessment
· Support in the ongoing development of curriculum, including continual improvement as needed and directed by the quality assurance team.
· Completing and maintaining all regulatory and financial paperwork
· Engaging employers in the learning programmes
· Administration of e-portfolio to identify any potential compliance issues
· Attending and contributing to standardisation meetings where appropriate
· Liaising regularly with your line manager and quality assurance team
· Taking part in continuous professional development, including completion of own qualifications
· Assisting in promoting the organisation and its qualification offering to employers and learners
· Offering information, advice and guidance and identifying learner needs
Desired experience
· Level 4 DSL qualification achieved within the last three years
· Experience delivering or supporting delivery of Apprenticeship
· Excellent practical and theoretical knowledge of vocational specialism
· Assessing and/or teaching qualifications
· Possess or working to a minimum of level 2 standard in Maths, ICT and English
· Good IT skills – working level of knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and other MIS and databases
