Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Retail Sales Assistant (Part-time) to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, assisting with merchandising, and supporting sales initiatives in a dynamic retail environment. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products that meet their needs
- Provide detailed product information and answer customer queries effectively
- Support merchandising efforts by organising displays and ensuring stock is well-presented
- Upsell products to maximise sales opportunities while maintaining excellent customer service standards
- Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system, including handling cash and card payments
- Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the sales floor and stockroom
- Manage stock levels by replenishing shelves and reporting low inventory to management
- Utilise strong communication skills to promote special offers and new products. Qualifications
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions and managing stock counts
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette when interacting over the phone or via email
- Organised with good time management abilities to prioritise tasks effectively during busy periods
- Experience or interest in merchandising and retail sales is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Ability to work well within a team and independently as required
- Strong organisational skills to maintain a tidy workspace and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
We try to be flexible with hours where we can, but as a retail business our customers come first — so the role will sometimes include late finishes and early morning starts, including weekends. Applicants should be happy to work a varying shift pattern.
