As a Purchasing Assistant, you will be at the heart of our procurement operations, managing supplier communications, processing purchase orders, and contributing to cost-saving initiatives. - Process and manage purchase orders for construction materials, ensuring accuracy in specifications, quantities, pricing, and delivery schedules
- Maintain comprehensive procurement records and documentation in accordance with company policies and industry regulations
- Monitor and track order status from placement through delivery, proactively identifying and resolving any delays or discrepancies
- Generate regular reports on purchasing activities, expenditures, and supplier performance metrics for senior management review
- Maintain and update the approved supplier database, ensuring all vendor information remains current and accurate
- Coordinate with accounts payable to ensure timely processing of invoices and resolution of payment queries
- Manage purchase order amendments, cancellations, and returns in accordance with established procedures
- Implement and maintain filing systems for contracts, agreements, and procurement documentation
- Serve as a primary point of contact for suppliers, maintaining professional and productive relationships
- Conduct regular communication with vendors regarding order confirmations, delivery schedules, and material specifications
- Coordinate supplier meetings and site visits as required by senior buyers
