TECS Group is a specialist provider of Water Hygiene and Legionella Control Services, facilities management, planned and reactive building maintenance and consultancy services across the UK.
We are currently seeking a Water Hygiene Service Technician to deliver safe and effective planned and reactive maintenance at various client’s premises.
Main duties and responsibilities
This role will include a variety of tasks including the following:
- Carry out all tasks / works in accordance with HSE ACOP L8, HSE HSG274 & HM04-01
- General water hygiene and legionella control duties will include but not limited to:
- Temperature checks, including accurate recording and adjustments where possible
- Descale and disinfection of both fixed and adjustable showerheads and hoses
- Cold Water Storage Tank inspections
- Clean and disinfection of Cold Water Storage Tanks
- Taking water samples and submitting for laboratory testing
- Flushing little used outlets
- Calorifier Inspections
- Calorifier descaling
- Mains Injections
- Minor and/or major water softener servicing, if qualified to do so
- Minor repairs to plumbing systems, if qualified to do so
- Risk Assessing water systems, if qualified to do so
- Working on your own initiative and also as part of a team carrying out routine PPM, reactive and minor works as assigned
- To ensure that all communication channels are utilised in order to keep both the client and TECS Group informed of relevant information.
- Working safely and following company health and safety regulations to ensure safety of yourself, colleagues, customers and visitors
- Taking full responsibility and ownership of all assigned tasks
- Being proactive in reporting faults to equipment, buildings and fittings
- Delivering excellent customer service in this client facing role and ensuring excellent client relationships are sustained

Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- A technical qualification or proven equivalent training and experience in a Water Hygiene and Legionella Control is desirable
- Good technical knowledge as well as the ability to multi task
- Working within accordance to HTM04-01
Competencies:
- Ability to plan and prioritise own workloads
- Ability to work under pressure and on your own initiative
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Adaptable and flexible in approach to work required
- Willingness and ability to work as a member of a team
Pay: Between £27,000 - £28,000 per annum, dependent on experience
