About the Role
We are looking for reliable, proactive, and personable Caretakers to join our team to help ensure our site (s) are safe, well maintained, and welcoming for everyone who uses them.
This is a varied and hands-on role combining caretaking, facilities management, and front-of-house responsibilities. You will play a key part in keeping the site running smoothly while ensuring visitors, hirers, and partners receive a positive and professional experience.
The role will often involve working independently taking responsibility for the site, and confidently managing situations as they arise.If you enjoy practical work, take pride in maintaining high standards, and like working with people, this could be the ideal role for you.
What you’ll be doing
· Ensuring the site, buildings, and facilities are safe, clean, and well maintained
· Carrying out minor repairs and general maintenance
· Opening and closing the site and ensuring it is secure
· Preparing rooms and spaces for events, activities, and bookings
· Welcoming visitors, hirers, and contractors to the site
· Acting as the main point of contact for people using the facilities
· Supporting the smooth running of events and activities
· Monitoring the site and reporting any maintenance or safety issues
· Ensuring a high standard of presentation and customer service
The role will frequently involve working alone on site, particularly during opening, closing, and certain booking periods. The successful candidate will therefore need to be confident working independently and able to respond calmly and responsibly to situations that may arise.
We are looking for a person who
· Has experience in caretaking, maintenance, or customer service
· Is friendly, approachable, and professional in attitude
· Is able to set up and clear away furniture and equipment
· Is comfortable with working independently and managing responsibilities while lone working
· Takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment
· Has good practical problem-solving skills
· Is confident interacting with visitors and site users
