Resident / Customer Liaison Officer
Location: Birmingham – Onsite
Pay: £14.00 per hour PAYE
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm (1-hour lunch)
Working Arrangement: Fully onsite – no WFH or hybrid option
We are currently recruiting for a Resident / Customer Liaison Officer to join a busy team working across construction, maintenance and housing projects in the Birmingham area.
This is a customer-facing, site-based role where you will act as the key point of contact between residents and project teams. You will ensure residents are kept fully informed throughout planned works, respond to queries and concerns, and help maintain positive relationships within the local community.
Please note: Candidates must be based in or around the Birmingham area, as attendance at other sites may be required. A full driving licence and access to a car five days per week is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the main point of contact for residents throughout works.
- Keep residents updated on project plans, timescales, progress and potential disruption.
- Respond to resident enquiries, concerns and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Carry out pre-project surveys, consultations and resident visits.
- Prepare and distribute letters, newsletters and other communications.
- Liaise closely with project managers, contractors and site teams.
- Identify potential issues and work proactively to resolve them before escalation.
- Provide appropriate support to residents throughout the project.
- Attend community meetings and resident engagement events where required.
- Conduct post-project satisfaction surveys and follow-ups.
- Maintain accurate records of resident communications, issues and outcomes.
- Ensure all resident liaison activities meet relevant company and regulatory requirements.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role, ideally within construction, social housing, maintenance or a similar environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service, complaint handling and problem-solving abilities.
- An approachable, empathetic and professional manner.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car five days per week – essential.
- Based within the Birmingham area with flexibility to attend different sites when required.
Experience within social housing, local government, construction or property maintenance would be advantageous.
