Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential care and support to individuals in need, particularly adults between the ages of 18 and 65 and those with specific health conditions such as learning disabilities, Autism and physical disabilities. Your responsibilities will include assisting with daily activities, ensuring the comfort and safety of clients, and promoting their overall well-being. Responsibilities
- Provide personal care to clients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support clients in meal preparation and ensure they receive proper nutrition.
- Assist with mobility and transportation needs, including driving clients to appointments or activities.
- Engage clients in social activities and provide companionship to enhance their quality of life.
- Monitor clients' health conditions and report any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Help clients with daily living tasks while promoting independence and dignity.
- Perform light housekeeping duties as needed to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Assist with heavy lifting when required, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Provide first aid as necessary and respond effectively to emergencies.
Requirements
- Previous experience in supported living settings or residential care is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices is an advantage.
- Certification in first aid is preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients.
- A compassionate nature and a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when required.
- A valid driver's licence is essential for transporting clients as needed.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, if necessary.
