Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?
A welcoming and nurturing primary school in the heart of Saltash is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. This rewarding role will involve providing 1:1 support for a pupil with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), helping them to access learning, build confidence, and reach their full potential.
In addition to supporting the pupil on a 1:1 basis, there may be opportunities to work within the school's dedicated SEND classroom, assisting a small group of pupils with additional learning needs and supporting the class teacher to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons.

The Role:
- Provide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with an EHCP
- Adapt learning activities to meet the individual needs of the pupil
- Support pupils within the school's SEND classroom when required
- Work closely with teachers, the SENDCo, and other professionals to deliver effective support
- Promote positive behaviour, independence, and emotional wellbeing
- Help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a primary school
- A strong understanding of SEND, including experience supporting pupils with additional learning needs
- Patient, resilient, and nurturing, with excellent communication skills
- Able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
- Committed to helping every child achieve their potential
