We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused Senior Fuel Specialist to join our team on a 12-month fixed term contract, supporting the delivery of best-value procurement and outstanding service across our Fuel portfolio. Working closely with the Fuel Procurement Manager, you will help maximise business opportunities, support the achievement of fuel pillar objectives, and ensure Members benefit from competitive pricing, clear communication and a consistently high level of service.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the Fuel Procurement Manager with business planning, budget forecasting and performance reporting for the Fuel category.
- Monitor fuel forecasts against plan, providing clear commentary and insight where required.
- Support the Fuel team to achieve category targets and KPIs.
- Maintain a strong understanding of fuel markets, pricing, product developments and relevant commercial or technical changes.
- Keep the Fuel team informed of supplier, product and Member updates that may affect service delivery.
- Work with the Communications team to produce Member updates, alerts, newsletters and other materials relating to fuel markets, pricing and product information.
- Identify opportunities to procure additional products and services at the right time, sharing recommendations with the team and Fuel Procurement Manager.
- Communicate and implement appropriate procurement strategies for the Fuel category.
- Ensure accurate recording, reporting and implementation of Fuel category processes and procedures.
About you
You’ll have experience in a customer service environment within the fuel industry, alongside:
- Confident communicating with Members, suppliers and colleagues, both verbally and in writing.
- You’ll bring a proactive, positive and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Strong organisational, administrative and record-keeping skills, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Comfortable analysing information, summarising findings and making clear recommendations.
- Confident using Microsoft Office and other IT systems, and willing to learn new platforms or technologies.
- Adaptable, resilient and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- You are motivated by continuous improvement and keen to contribute ideas that support the development of the Fuel category.

Pay: Up to £37,440.00 per year
