The British Dietetic Association is a professional body and trade union and is the leading organisation of nutrition professionals in the UK, representing the nutrition and dietetic workforce across all sectors with over 12,500 members.
The British Dietetic Association are looking for somebody who enjoys forging strong working relationships within our office team and with our dietetic members.
You will ideally have some experience of reception or front of house, good Microsoft office skills and a desire to help create an efficient, friendly and welcoming office environment.
This role can include some solo working, and it is based in the British Dietetic Association’s Birmingham office, so you must be based within a commutable distance and willing to be based in the office full-time.
The successful applicant will:
Provide high-quality office administrative support to the British Dietetic Association, including reception duties, answering general enquiries, servicing meetings, monitoring all office supplies, administering office systems and the provision of general administrative support for office teams.
Ideally, you will have experience with office administration, a good understanding of Microsoft office packages as well as virtual meeting platforms, or a willingness to learn. An understanding of membership organisations would be advantageous also.
As part of the role, you will also be involved in:
- setting up and maintaining the Audio Visual equipment in the meeting rooms
- updating our website and sharepoint site
- being first point of contact for incoming calls and emails
- overseeing the website shop orders
- developing knowledge of the in-house CRM
- managing incoming and outgoing post and parcels
- ensuring the office is tidy, clean and safe
- booking travel, buffets and offering support to events
The role would suit a candidate looking to develop their office skills, or somebody who enjoys working with people face-to-face and is keen to forge strong working relationships with colleagues and members. An interest in AI and how this can improve our customer service efficiency would be advantageous.
