Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and technically competent Service Technician who will specialise in repair and maintenance of in Medical Products and Devices to join our team in and area that could potentially cover up to Manchester and down to South Wales, occasionally London and be based in the Wolverhampton or close to the M6 for easy motor way access. This role involves providing on-site technical support, installation, maintenance, and repair of medical equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with industry standards. The role is temporary for 6 months with a potential to move to permanent.
Duties
- Service , calibrate, and repair medical devices at client sites in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety regulations.
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance to ensure equipment remains operational and compliant with regulatory standards.
- Troubleshoot technical issues on-site, diagnosing faults accurately and implementing effective solutions promptly.
- Maintain detailed service records, including work performed, parts used, and recommendations for future maintenance.
- Liaise with clients to schedule service visits, ensuring minimal disruption to hospital or clinic operations.
Skills: This role would suit some one with previous servicing experience or some one who has an innate ability to fix things/ technically minded. Full technical training will be provided to the right person.
Essential
- Driving licence,
- Flexible with a customer focussed can do attitude
- Computor literate.
- An innate ability for hands on repair work together with an abilty to understand how things work, to allow you to trouble shoot and bring device back to original specification. Experience in servicing medical devices or similar technical equipment within healthcare environments if beneficial but not essential as full and continual training will be provided,
- Excellent customer focussed communication skills oral and written.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel frequently West Midlands, North West and Wales, occasionally further afield
- Over night stays will be required on a regular basis. Evening and occasional night shift work may be required.
- The role requires a proactive attitude and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality in all tasks undertaken.
Nice to have:
- Recognised qualification in engineering, electronics, or related fields.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
