I'm 50 years old and reside in Anlaby Common. I require a dedicated and suitable person to support me due to having MS. I like/enjoy painting and crafts, cats, reading, shopping. & singing/choir.
About the role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
➡Meal, drinks and snacks preparation
➡Assisting with general domestic tasks
➡Assisting with light gardening
➡Assisting with shopping for groceries.
➡Assisting with dressing and help with circulation boosting/ physio exercises. Therefore there is a genuine occupational requirement for a female worker exists for this post under the Equality Act 2010 due to privacy and decency.
➡Assisting the individual with accessing activities and spending time out in the community.
➡Attending/transporting the individual to social activities and appointments.
➡Encouraging social interaction and inclusion and providing emotional support.
About the candidate:
The suitable candidate must:
➡Be motivated, proactive and able to work on their own initiative.
➡Be patient, caring and understanding.
➡Have good communication skills (clear and effective communication).
➡Be able to build a positive relationship with the individual to both encourage and support them.
➡Be flexible to accommodate the hours of work where necessary.
➡Must have use of own car and also may need to transport individual to social activities and appointments in their wheelchair accessible van, so a full clean driving licence is required.
➡Non smoker /non vaper due to asthma and allergy reasons.
➡The family is looking to adopt either a cat or dog in the future
DBS/Reference checks will be required for this post – Cost to be met by the local authority.
