Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Phlebotomist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients in a safe, efficient, and compassionate manner. The ideal applicant will possess excellent communication skills, be proficient in English, and have a keen eye for detail.
The successful candidate will work over both our branches, Kirkliston and Winchburgh.
Duties
- Collect blood samples from patients using venipuncture and capillary techniques with precision and care
- Ensure patient comfort and provide clear instructions throughout the procedure
- Label and handle specimens accurately to prevent contamination or mix-ups
- Maintain cleanliness and sterility of equipment and work area in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Record patient information accurately using IT systems and ensure data integrity
- Educate patients on pre-test preparations or post-procedure care as required
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure smooth workflow and high standards of patient care
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Phlebotomist or in a similar clinical role
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential
- Basic IT skills for managing electronic health records and data entry
- Ability to teach or explain procedures clearly to patients of all ages and backgrounds
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in specimen handling and documentation
- Certification or recognised training in phlebotomy is mandatory
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining compassion and professionalism

Position is 10 hours per week, days and times are negotiable.
£13.84 per hour.
Pay: £1,000.00-£8,000.00 per year
