Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our team within a reputable care home specialising in senior care. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality support and supervision to residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This role offers an opportunity to utilise your leadership skills and care expertise in a compassionate environment, contributing positively to residents’ lives. The position is for 28 hours per week.
Responsibilities, may include but are not limited to:
- Deliver personalised care in accordance with individual care plans, respecting residents’ dignity and preferences
- Supervise and support junior care staff, fostering a collaborative and professional team environment
- Assist residents with daily activities such as mobility and personal hygiene
- Administer medication in line with our medication policy
- Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns to healthcare professionals promptly
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and update care plans as necessary
- Ensure the safety and cleanliness of the care environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams to promote transparency and trust
- Support the organisation’s standards of quality care through continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Proven experience in senior care within a care home setting, with supervising or leadership experience preferred
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, and team members
- Knowledge of care plans, safeguarding procedures, and relevant legislation governing adult social care
- IT literacy for maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Holds or is working towards a level 3 qualification
Pay: £13.25 per hour
