Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated, compassionate and experienced Health & Social Care Manager to lead the safe, effective and person-centred delivery of care and support services. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operational leadership, quality oversight, workforce management and continuous development of the service, ensuring that all care and support provisions are delivered in accordance with statutory requirements, organisational policies and the values of Central South Services LTD (Company No. 15279574). Responsibilities
Lead and manage the delivery of Health and Social Care services, ensuring that all care and support provisions are safe, responsive, person-centred and tailored to individual needs, preferences and outcomes. Oversee the assessment, planning, implementation and review of support arrangements to ensure that Service Users receive high-quality care that promotes dignity, independence, choice and wellbeing. Ensure that care delivery is aligned with the Care Act 2014, Care Quality Commission requirements, safeguarding obligations, Mental Capacity Act 2005 principles and all other relevant legislation, guidance and professional standards applicable within the United Kingdom healthcare and social care system.
Provide effective leadership and management to the Adult Social Care Workforce (ASCW), including recruitment, induction, supervision, performance management, development and retention of staff. Support a positive workplace culture that reflects the Organisation’s Mentor, Empower & Inspire (MEI) Culture and ensures employees are equipped to deliver compassionate, competent and accountable care. Conduct Quarterly Supervisions, Field Observations, Reflective Practice Sessions, Annual Appraisals and Competency Assessments to maintain workforce capability, improve practice standards and support continuous professional development.
Take responsibility for quality assurance, governance and service improvement through the implementation of robust monitoring systems, audits and performance oversight arrangements. Maintain accurate and contemporaneous records relating to Service Users, staffing, incidents, complaints, safeguarding concerns and service performance, ensuring all records are complete, secure and compliant with organisational requirements and legal standards. Use the Digital Care Hub (DCH) and associated quality monitoring processes to review trends, track outcomes, identify risks and drive improvement actions in line with the Monitoring, Evaluation and Quality Assurance Framework (MEQAF).
Work collaboratively with The Entire Population, Service Users, Their Families, The Adult Social Care Workforce (ASCW), Key Stakeholders, Local Authority Commissioners and Statutory & Community Partners to ensure coordinated, integrated and effective support. Build strong relationships with external professionals including social workers, community teams, health professionals, housing providers and commissioners to support positive outcomes, effective safeguarding and timely interventions. Lead on the management of incidents, complaints, compliments, safeguarding referrals and service escalations, ensuring that concerns are addressed promptly, proportionately and in accordance with National Policies & Procedures.
Support service mobilisation, contract delivery and business continuity arrangements by ensuring that staffing, resources, rota management, risk controls and operational systems are maintained to a high standard. Promote co-production in care planning and service development, ensuring that people who use services and those important to them have meaningful opportunities to influence how support is designed, delivered and reviewed. Contribute to the achievement of service objectives relating to quality, compliance, workforce development, financial sustainability, digital transformation and social value.
Skills and Experience
A relevant qualification in Health and Social Care, Leadership and Management, or a related field is essential. A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care, or willingness to work towards this qualification, is highly desirable. Proven experience in a management or supervisory role within Health and Social Care is essential, with demonstrable knowledge of service delivery, regulatory compliance, safeguarding, workforce leadership and person-centred practice.
The successful candidate will have strong organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, oversee multiple operational demands and maintain oversight of service quality and performance. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, with the ability to engage confidently with Service Users, families, employees, commissioners and multi-disciplinary professionals. The role requires sound judgement, emotional resilience and a compassionate approach when managing sensitive, complex or high-risk situations.
Applicants must demonstrate a clear understanding of the Care Quality Commission regulatory framework, safeguarding procedures, risk management, incident reporting, confidentiality, data protection and professional accountability within the United Kingdom care sector. The ability to work independently, make informed decisions and lead teams effectively while promoting a culture of continuous improvement is essential. Experience of using digital care systems, audit tools and performance monitoring frameworks will be an advantage.
