Personal Injury fee earner
Proctor & Hobbs Solicitors is seeking an experienced and motivated Personal Injury Paralegal to join our growing litigation team on a profit share consultancy basis.
This opportunity is ideal for an individual who wants the flexibility of working independently whilst benefiting from the support, reputation and infrastructure of an established law firm. There is no fixed salaryinstead, you will earn an agreed percentage of the profit generated from the cases you work on.
The Opportunity
This is a self-employed consultant role where your earnings are directly linked to your performance. The more work you manage and successfully conclude, the greater your earning potential.
You will have the freedom to manage your own caseload while receiving administrative, compliance and supervisory support from the firm where required.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing your own caseload of claimant personal injury claims from instruction through to settlement or trial.
- Drafting correspondence, pleadings, witness statements, schedules of loss and other legal documents.
- Preparing court bundles and complying with court directions and procedural deadlines.
- Conducting liability and quantum investigations, including reviewing medical evidence and expert reports.
- Liaising with clients, insurers, medical experts, counsel and third parties.
- Negotiating settlements where appropriate.
- Maintaining accurate file records in accordance with SRA and firm requirements.
- Delivering a high standard of client care throughout each matter.
- Developing and maintaining your own pipeline of work where possible.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum of 1–2 years' experience handling claimant personal injury claims with the ability to independently manage a caseload from instruction through to settlement or trial, including experience of the OIC/MOJ/MIB/CICA portals, negotiating liability and quantum, progressing litigated matters, drafting court documents, preparing Bill of costs Precedent H, U and A, and a strong working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules, Pre-Action Protocols and costs procedures. Excellent organisational, communication and client care skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines and work with minimal supervision.
Desirable
- Experience using LEAP Case Management.
- Experience handling RTA, EL/PL, Fast Track and Multi-Track claims.
