About the Role
We're an established mobile phone parts distribution business that has expanded into a busy, high-volume repair operation, and we're looking for a skilled Mobile Phone Technician to join our workshop team. Repair is now a core part of what we do and the quality and speed of our repair work directly drives this side of the business. This role will be mainly focused on level 2 repairs (board-level/component repairs), so solid experience here is essential. We'll also provide full training in screen reglassing and relamination — you don't need prior experience in this, but you'll need the hands-on repair background and dexterity to pick it up quickly, as this will become a core part of the role over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair a wide range of hardware faults across mobile devices (screens, batteries, charging ports, cameras, rear glass)
- Carry out high-volume repairs to a consistently high standard at pace
- Carry out screen reglassing and relamination on iPhone and other smartphone displays (training provided)
- Disassemble and reassemble devices to a high standard without cosmetic damage
- Carry out functional and quality control testing on completed repairs
- Maintain accurate repair records and flag recurring fault patterns
- Manage repair parts stock and report shortages
- Continuously improve repair processes, turnaround times and first-time-fix rates
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven hands-on experience repairing mobile phones, particularly iPhones and other smartphones
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-throughput repair environment
- Confident disassembling and reassembling devices without cosmetic damage
- Methodical, detail-oriented approach with steady hands and good manual dexterity
- Ability to work efficiently to volume targets without compromising quality
- Willingness to learn screen reglassing and relamination (full training given)
Desirable
- Prior exposure to screen reglassing or relamination
- Micro-soldering / board-level repair experience
- Experience with refurbishment grading standards
- Familiarity with iPhone model range and common fault profiles
