Job Summary
MK Construction & Renovation Ltd is seeking a skilled and reliable Bricklayer to join our construction and renovation team on a full-time fixed-term basis. The role is required to support our residential building, extension, loft conversion and renovation projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out bricklaying, blockwork, masonry repairs and related construction duties to a high professional standard. The Bricklayer will report directly to the Director and will work under company supervision on MK Construction & Renovation Ltd projects.
Duties
- Carry out bricklaying, blockwork and masonry work for residential construction, extension and renovation projects.
- Build, repair and maintain walls, partitions, foundations and other brick or block structures.
- Measure, cut, shape and lay bricks, blocks and other construction materials according to project requirements.
- Mix mortar and prepare materials in line with site requirements and safety standards.
- Read and follow basic drawings, measurements, specifications and instructions provided by the company.
- Repair and restore existing brickwork and masonry as required on renovation projects.
- Assist with setting out work areas and preparing surfaces before bricklaying or blockwork begins.
- Use hand tools, power tools and relevant construction equipment safely and effectively.
- Ensure all work is completed accurately, safely and to a high standard of workmanship.
- Follow health and safety rules, site procedures and company policies at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area and ensure tools and materials are used responsibly.
- Work with other team members and subcontractors where required to complete projects on time.
- Report progress, site issues, material requirements and any safety concerns directly to the Director.
Skills
- Previous experience as a Bricklayer or in a similar masonry/construction role.
- Strong practical knowledge of bricklaying, blockwork, mortar mixing and masonry repairs.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools and construction equipment safely.
- Ability to follow drawings, measurements and site instructions.
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements on construction sites.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good timekeeping, reliability and willingness to work on different residential project sites.
- Physical fitness and stamina to carry out manual construction work.
Pay: £33,400.00 per year
