store serving the Coldean community. We operate to the highest standards in
the sector: a clean and fully stocked shop floor, accurate and courteous
service at the counter, and a reliable local delivery service.
Job Summary
We are recruiting individuals who take pride in their work, hold themselves
to a high standard, and can be trusted to operate the store and represent the
business on the road. This is a combined retail and delivery driving position. The successful
candidate will have shifts split between the shop floor working and delivering orders.
Full training is provided across all areas of the role.
Responsibilities
RETAIL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receiving and processing stock deliveries, working stock back into the
stockroom and replenishing the shop floor
- Rotating stock correctly and carrying out date checks to ensure product
quality and compliance
- Maintaining a tidy and well-presented shop floor at all times
- Serving customers at the till and delivering a professional, courteous
standard of service
- Selling age-restricted products responsibly,applying Challenge 25 without exception
- Attending to spillages and breakages promptly.
- Completing accurate cash reconciliation and end-of-day cash ups
- Securing and closing the store at the end of trade
DELIVERY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Picking and packing customer delivery orders accurately and efficiently
- Delivering orders across the Brighton area using the company vehicle,
a manual Fiat 500
- Carrying out age verification at the point of delivery for any order
containing alcohol or other age-restricted goods
- Treating the company vehicle with care and reporting any defect or incident
promptly and correctly
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Aged 22 or over (required by our company vehicle insurance policy)
- A full UK manual driving licence, held for a minimum of 12 months, with
no penalty points (previous delivery experience desirable but not essential)
- A minimum of 2 years' retail experience (desirable but not essential)
- Demonstrable reliability and consistent timekeeping
- Trustworthy and confident handling cash, completing cash ups and closing
the store (experience with Paypoint and National Lottery desirable but not essential)
- Strong customer service skills and a professional manner
- Comfortable with a small amount of lifting, as is standard in any retail
role
- The right to work in the UK
POSITIONS AVAILABLE:
We are recruiting for four separate positions, each with its own fixed shift
pattern. Each pattern recurs weekly and is not open to variation.
