About Crossroads Care Slough
Crossroads Care Slough is a local charity that has supported carers, disabled people, older people, children and families for over 30 years.
We provide respite care, personal care, community support, companionship, short breaks and activities that reduce isolation and improve wellbeing.
We are now looking for an organised, capable and compassionate person to join our small and friendly team. This is a varied role for someone who enjoys taking responsibility, solving problems and helping services run smoothly.
About the Role
As our Administrative & Community Support Coordinator, you will play an important part in the day-to-day running of the organisation.
You will coordinate staff rotas and visits, maintain accurate records, respond to enquiries and provide administrative support across our care and community services. You will work closely with staff, service users, families and professionals to help ensure people receive safe, reliable and person-centred support.
Because we are a small charity, this is not a role where every day looks the same. You may be organising rotas in the morning, supporting a referral or client review later in the day and helping at one of our community activities the following week.
Main Responsibilities
Your duties will include:
- Coordinating staff rotas and service schedules using Nourish
- Allocating care and community support visits
- Responding to telephone calls, emails and enquiries
- Processing referrals and helping to set up new services
- Creating and updating client and staff records
- Liaising with service users, carers, families, staff and professionals
- Supporting payroll preparation, invoicing and payment monitoring
- Maintaining training, compliance and quality-assurance records
- Assisting with recruitment, onboarding, supervisions and staff reviews
- Supporting client assessments, reviews and support planning
- Helping to deliver our Community Hub and other local activities
- Assisting with audits, reports, policies and service improvements
- Providing occasional practical or front-line support when required
About You
You will be someone who is dependable, approachable and able to remain organised when priorities change.
You must have:
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work
- Good administrative and organisational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence using Microsoft Office 365 and electronic systems
- The ability to manage competing priorities and follow tasks through
- A professional and confidential approach
- The ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- A compassionate, person-centred outlook
- A willingness to learn and take on different responsibilities
Experience in health and social care is helpful, but not essential if you have strong transferable skills and the right approach.
Experience in any of the following would be an advantage:
- Rota planning, scheduling or service coordination
- Care, community services or the voluntary sector
- Payroll, invoicing or general office administration
- Electronic care-record systems such as Nourish
- Safeguarding, compliance or quality assurance
- Community activities or events
What We Offer
