Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including floors, work surfaces, utensils, and equipment to uphold health and safety standards
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as washing vegetables, peeling, and portioning ingredients under supervision
- Support chefs and kitchen staff by organizing supplies and ensuring ingredients are readily available for cooking
- Dispose of waste properly and ensure recycling procedures are followed to keep the kitchen tidy
- Help with serving food in dining areas when needed, ensuring smooth service flow
- Follow hygiene protocols diligently to prevent contamination and maintain a safe working environment
- Support in setting up and clearing down after service periods, including dishwashing duties
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm to learn is key. All necessary training can be provided.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting colleagues
