The Role: Operator
Typhoo Tea is a renowned name in the tea industry, known for delivering high-quality tea products to customers around the world. Since moving our manufacturing in-house in April 25, we have seen a steady growth in demand. We are therefore looking for a dynamic and experienced Operator to work in our production facility.
Location: Gloucester (The Plant)
Days/Hours: 32 hours, Mon-Thu – 10pm – 6am – 12 months fixed term.
Job Summary:
As an Operator you will oversee the day-to-day operation of our tea production lines, ensuring efficiency, quality and safety. You will alternate between operating a machine and packing our tea into cases as well as palletisation. This role requires a results-driven approach to optimize production processes, enhance operational performance, and uphold the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Role and Responsibilities:
· Operational Management: Work on our tea production lines, ensuring production targets are met. You will be required to be multi-skilled, operating a tea machine or undertaking case packing and pallet build. Regular daily checks and feedback on manufacturing processes (waste / machine downtime / daily output etc.)
· Quality Assurance: Working with the wider team to ensure adherence to quality standards, including regulatory and company-specific requirements, to maintain product excellence. Undertake daily quality checks and raise concerns when required.
· Health & Safety Compliance: Uphold strict safety protocols and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
· Maintain Facility Standards: Help to maintain a clean, tidy and ultimately safe working environment. Support the reduction of waste by operating the tea shredding machine when required.
Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:
· Proven experience working in similar role in the FMCG or food & beverage industry.
· Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and operational best practices.
· Excellent decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
· Understanding of health & safety regulations and compliance requirements.
· (Preferable) Experience working in a BRCGS certified facility.
