Sefton Advocacy is an established Independent Generic Advocacy Service for people aged 18 and over who live in Sefton.
We believe every individual has the right to say what they want and need when important decisions are being made which will affect their lives. Our aim is to give residents who use our service choice and control over their lives.
We have been providing advocacy services in the Borough for over 25 years. The service is unique within the area and provides specialist services to all adults. The reputation and demand for our service continues to grow. Sefton Advocacy is independent, free and confidential.

Role
To champion the vision and mission of Sefton Advocacy by building strong partnerships with VCF organisations, Cheshire & Merseyside ICB and Sefton Council; and by developing and delivering impactful initiatives for people with health and wellbeing related advocacy needs of all ages. The role creates opportunities for meaningful engagement, ensures services are inclusive and accessible, and upholds the highest standards of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion in line with national best practice.
Strategic Oversight
· Lead the development and delivery of Sefton Advocacy in collaboration with the Board of Trustees, staff, volunteers (including those with lived experience), beneficiaries, and stakeholders.
· Implement service delivery, quality assurance, and compliance, ensuring advocacy services are high-quality, safe, and person-centred to drive continuous improvement.
· Foster a supportive and innovative working environment where all employees and volunteers are encouraged to contribute.
· Build and maintain strong networks with local authority, healthcare professionals, funders, and partner organisations to share best practice, coordinate initiatives, and advance opportunities for service growth.
· Stay informed about relevant policy developments to position Sefton Advocacy for new opportunities.
· Lead on financial strategy, income generation, and annual budgeting.
· Write compelling funding bids and narratives for innovative, needs-led initiatives.
Operational Responsibilities
· Regularly update and maintain organisational policies and procedures, developing new ones as needed to meet project requirements.
· Create and update resources to support both new and existing projects.
· Maintain a professional presence and reputation both internally and externally.
· Manage and support all staff and volunteers, ensuring effective team performance.
· Translate strategic objectives into clear, achievable operational plans, ensuring all team members understand their roles and deliverables to meet funding requirements.
Pay: £42,798.00 per year
