We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Hair and Beauty Tutor (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities - SEND) to inspire and support learners with diverse needs in developing their skills in hairdressing and beauty therapy. Duties
- Deliver comprehensive hair and beauty training sessions tailored to the individual needs of SEND learners, ensuring accessibility and engagement.
- Develop personalized lesson plans that incorporate practical skills such as hairstyling, skincare, makeup application, and salon hygiene.
- Incorporate relevant therapies such as speech therapy and applied behavior analysis to enhance communication, social skills, and behavioral management.
- Support learners in developing essential life skills including childcare, toddler care, early childhood education, and physical education activities.
- Monitor progress through regular assessments, provide constructive feedback, and adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning requirements.
- Foster a positive learning environment by promoting good behavior management techniques and encouraging peer mentoring.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including special education professionals, speech therapists, and childcare specialists to deliver holistic support.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children or young adults with SEND in educational or childcare settings.
- Strong knowledge of hairdressing and beauty therapy techniques suitable for diverse learners.
- Experience in teaching physical education, early childhood education, or preschool environments is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with learners who have speech therapy needs or other communication challenges.
- Familiarity with applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavior management strategies, and special education principles.
- Ability to proofread lesson materials for clarity and accuracy; experience tutoring or mentoring students is advantageous.
- Relevant qualifications in hairdressing, beauty therapy, early childhood education, or special education are required.
