Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly front of house to join our vibrant hospitality team at the Globe Bar and Restaurant in Laugharne. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional guest service, take orders accurately, and serve food and beverages efficiently. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a dynamic restaurant environment, ensuring guests enjoy a memorable experience. Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant settings is preferred.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive service throughout their visit
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring special requests are noted and fulfilled
- Serve drinks and meals promptly, maintaining high standards of presentation and quality
- Upsell menu items to maximise sales opportunities while providing honest recommendations
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are adhered to at all times
- Assist with food preparation and organisation in the kitchen as needed
- Clear tables efficiently and maintain cleanliness in the dining area
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately using the POS system
- Provide excellent guest services by addressing questions or concerns promptly and professionally
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operation during busy periods
Skills
- Proven experience in hospitality or restaurant environments is advantageous
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and food preparation techniques
- Excellent guest service skills with a friendly, approachable manner
- Basic maths skills for handling bills and transactions accurately
- Good organisational skills with effective time management abilities
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service times
- Kitchen or culinary experience is a plus, supporting food presentation and preparation tasks
- Upselling skills to enhance guest experience while increasing sales potential
- Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
